Directed by JAMIE LLOYD
Landscape and A Kind of Alaska, directed by Jamie Lloyd, are spellbinding evocations of loneliness, isolation and the strange mists of time.
Landscape is a minimalist marvel: a woman is locked in a beautiful memory and her husband demands to be heard. In A Kind of Alaska, Deborah awakes from a twenty-nine-year sleep and is suspended between the conscious and unconscious worlds.
Lee Evans will perform the poignant Monologue and a selection of Pinter’s most hilarious comedy sketches, including the sketch Apart From That, with Meera Syal.
In addition, long-term Pinter collaborator Penelope Wilton (Downton Abbey) will make 12 special guest appearances to perform the witty monologue Tess - written specifically for her by Pinter - from the 19th November.
Cast includes KEITH ALLEN, LEE EVANS, TAMSIN GREIG, MEERA SYAL and – at select performances – PENELOPE WILTON.
About the Pinter at the Pinter Season
The Jamie Lloyd Company presents a complete season of Harold Pinter's one-act plays to celebrate the legacy of the Nobel Prize-winning British writer on the 10th anniversary of his death. This unique theatrical event will play at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 6 September 2018 to 23 February 2019, and promises an unforgettable celebration of the "most influential, provocative and poetic dramatist of his generation" (The Guardian).

excellent acting and sets
I thought that this was a very moving collection of thought provoking plays, complemented by the well placed occasional amusing monologue and scene. Tamsin Greig was superlative. I have always known she was a very gifted actor but in the two pieces in which she performed she was astonishing - her sensitivity of touch and range of accents and emotions was breathtaking. The production itself was well thought out with good links from one piece to the next.
Play was interesting and funny, Lee Evans was the star of the show for me, seats are extremely uncomfortable though and bar prices are very high, around £4 for a soft drinks bottle, but bar staff are lovely.
Brilliant and poignant, sad and funny in equal measure
fabuloua thoughtful show magnificently acted
I attended a performance of Pinter3 last night. I was particularly looking forward to seeing Tamsin Greig in A Kind of Alaska. Unfortunately, quite a chunk of dialogue was inaudible in the Balcony. In general, I much enjoyed the other playlets, particularly those which featured Lee Evans.
Seat next to wall was not advertised as restricted view, which it was. Over sold as comedic three plays, mostly a very unfunny turgid piece about a girl who slept for 29 years - awful Wine grossly overpriced
A great selection of Pinter pieces, ranging from the poignant to the (proto-)Pythonesque. Tamsin Greig was outstanding, as ever, but strong performances all round. A really satisfying evening.
It was excellent, a superb cast, especially Lee Evans and Tamsin Grieg. A Kind of Alaska was very moving. As good as I expected.
Great show with a fantastic cast. Only issue was an extremely tall person sat in front of my friend who entirely blocked her view - she had to sit on the stairs.
The plays are the big disappointment. Technically and artistically proficient and pleasing, but a lot of effort for what? White print in programme impossible to read
A very good display of professional acting by all. And some great moves byLee Evans
